Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 4 cups fresh watermelon, cut into 1-inch cubes, peeled and seeded
- 8 fresh lemons
Sweeteners
- 1/4 cup simple syrup or liquid honey
Liquids
- 4 cups water or sparkling water
To Serve
- Ice
- Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Watermelon: Chop the watermelon into 1-inch cubes, carefully removing the peel and any large seeds to ensure a smooth and fresh base for your lemonade.
- Juice the Lemons: Extract the juice from the 8 fresh lemons, ensuring you strain out any seeds for a smooth beverage.
- Blend Ingredients: Place the watermelon cubes, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and your choice of sweetener (simple syrup or liquid honey) into a blender. Blend everything together until completely smooth to create a watermelon lemonade concentrate.
- Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and solids, resulting in about 4 cups of watermelon lemonade concentrate.
- Serve: To serve, combine equal parts of the watermelon lemonade concentrate and cold water or sparkling water in a pitcher. Add ice to chill. Alternatively, fill each glass halfway with concentrate over ice, then top off with water or sparkling water. Garnish with lemon slices.
Notes
- Use sparkling water for a fizzy twist on classic lemonade.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/simple syrup according to taste.
- For a stronger watermelon flavor, reduce the added water when serving.
- Straining ensures a smooth texture without pulp.
- Keep the lemonade refrigerated and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
