Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
Sweetener
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
Liquids
- 4 cups cold filtered water
Instructions
- Prepare the berries: Rinse the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries thoroughly and pat them dry. Slice larger strawberries into quarters to ensure even mixing and release of flavors.
- Juice the lemons: Squeeze fresh lemons to extract about 1 cup of lemon juice. Strain the juice to remove any seeds for a smooth lemonade.
- Dissolve sugar: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved to balance the tartness of the lemons.
- Mix the lemonade: Add the prepared berries and cold filtered water to the lemon juice and sugar mixture. Stir gently to combine all the flavors without crushing the berries too much.
- Taste and adjust: Sample the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness as desired by adding more sugar or lemon juice accordingly.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least one hour to let the flavors meld. Serve over ice with optional garnishes such as extra berries or lemon slices for a beautiful presentation.
Notes
- Adjust sugar quantity based on your preferred sweetness level or substitute with honey or a sugar alternative.
- For an adult twist, add a splash of vodka or gin.
- Use sparkling water instead of cold filtered water for a fizzy version.
- Make sure to chill the lemonade adequately for best flavor before serving.
- Fresh berries can be replaced with frozen berries in a pinch; just thaw and drain excess water.
