Description

A quick and delicious toasted chicken salad wrap made with shredded chicken, fresh vegetables, creamy mayo, and tangy hot sauce, then toasted to golden perfection in the air fryer. Perfect for a satisfying lunch or light dinner that’s both flavorful and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Salad

  • 3 cups shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/3 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro leaves
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 – 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Assembly

  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 8 medium tortillas

Instructions

  1. Combine Chicken Salad: In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, shredded carrots, diced celery, chopped green onions, mayonnaise, chopped cilantro, sour cream, and hot sauce. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well integrated. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Assemble Wraps: Lay out each tortilla flat. Spoon an even amount of the chicken salad mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the chicken mixture. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly to enclose the filling, placing the wrap seam-side down to secure.
  3. Toast in Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (205°C). Place the assembled wraps into the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. Toast the wraps for 3 to 4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to toast the wraps in batches.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to suit your heat preference.
  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the wraps with cooking oil before air frying.
  • Substitute the mayonnaise and sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • The wraps can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator; toast just before serving.
  • Use gluten-free tortillas to make this recipe gluten-free.
