This Tiramisu Latte recipe combines rich espresso with a creamy mascarpone cold foam, delivering a decadent coffee experience inspired by the classic Italian dessert. Perfect as a warm or iced beverage, it layers smooth espresso, steamed or cold milk, optional coffee liqueur or vanilla for extra flavor, and a luscious mascarpone topping dusted with cocoa powder.
Ingredients
Scale
For the latte:
- 1–2 shots of espresso or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
- ¾ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur or ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder for dusting
For the mascarpone cold foam:
- 2 tablespoons mascarpone cheese, softened
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Brew Espresso or Coffee: Start by brewing your 1–2 shots of espresso or ½ cup of strong brewed coffee, then set it aside while you prepare the foam.
- Prepare Mascarpone Cold Foam: In a small bowl or milk frother, whisk together 2 tablespoons mascarpone cheese, ¼ cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon simple syrup or maple syrup, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened but still pourable. Using a handheld frother yields the best texture.
- Heat and Froth Milk: Heat the ¾ cup of milk if you prefer a hot latte, or leave it cold for an iced version. Froth the milk if desired to add extra creaminess.
- Assemble the Latte: Pour the hot espresso or coffee into your mug or glass. Stir in the heated milk and add the optional coffee liqueur or vanilla extract for extra flavor depth.
- Add Mascarpone Foam and Finish: Gently spoon the prepared mascarpone cold foam over the top of the latte. Dust with 1 teaspoon cocoa powder to garnish and enhance the tiramisu flavor.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy your tiramisu latte fresh for the best flavor and texture experience.
Notes
- For an iced version, pour espresso over ice, add cold milk, and top with mascarpone foam.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of simple syrup or maple syrup to taste.
- For a richer flavor, try using sweetened condensed milk instead of regular milk or syrup.
- Use a handheld frother or a milk frother to achieve ideal foam texture.
- Espresso or strong brewed coffee can be substituted based on your equipment and preference.
