Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Sauce
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
- ½ cup sweet chili sauce
Wrap Components
- 4 large flour tortillas or whole wheat wraps
- 1 cup shredded lettuce or mixed greens
- ½ cup shredded carrots
- ½ cup thinly sliced cucumber
- ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
- ½ avocado, sliced (optional)
- ¼ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
Condiments and Seasoning
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt (optional for creaminess)
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Cook chicken breasts if not using leftovers. Once cooled, shred or dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces for easy mixing and eating.
- Toss Chicken with Sweet Chili Sauce: In a bowl, combine the shredded or diced chicken with the sweet chili sauce, mixing thoroughly to ensure all pieces are well coated, giving the chicken a flavorful, tangy glaze.
- Prepare the Veggies: Wash and shred the lettuce or mixed greens. Thinly slice the cucumber, shred the carrots, and thinly slice the red onion and avocado, preparing fresh, crisp vegetables to complement the chicken.
- Assemble the Wraps: Lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spread mayonnaise or Greek yogurt evenly over each tortilla if using. Layer the shredded greens first, followed by the sweet chili chicken, then add the shredded carrots, cucumber slices, red onion, cheese, and chopped cilantro. Finally, squeeze fresh lime juice over the fillings and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Roll and Serve: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward and roll tightly from one end to the other to enclose the fillings securely. Slice the wraps in half if desired. Serve immediately for best freshness or wrap tightly to enjoy later.
Notes
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat wraps instead of flour tortillas.
- Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt is optional but adds a nice creamy texture to balance the sweet chili sauce.
- Can substitute chicken with tofu or chickpeas for a vegetarian version.
- Wraps can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; add avocado just before serving to avoid browning.
- Add extra spice with sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of chili flakes if desired.
