Description

This Sweet and Spicy Garlic Steak Pasta combines tender sirloin or ribeye steak with a flavorful blend of garlic, honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes, tossed with perfectly cooked fettuccine or spaghetti. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s a quick and satisfying dish that balances savory, sweet, and spicy elements, finished with fresh herbs for a vibrant touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti

Steak and Sauce

  • 12 oz sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil salted water and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to keep warm.
  2. Sear Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Place it in the hot skillet and sear each side for 4-5 minutes until nicely browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  3. Add Garlic and Honey: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the minced garlic and honey to the skillet with the steak. Stir frequently for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant but not burnt.
  4. Simmer Sauce: Pour in the low-sodium soy sauce and sprinkle the red pepper flakes into the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for 2 minutes to combine the flavors well.
  5. Toss Pasta and Steak: Add the cooked pasta into the skillet with the steak and sauce. Toss everything thoroughly so the pasta is well coated with the savory and spicy sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley or basil on top before serving to add a fresh herbal note.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your heat preference.
  • Substitute sirloin or ribeye with your favorite steak cuts if desired.
  • The pasta can be any long noodle such as linguine or spaghetti based on what you have.
  • For added crunch, sprinkle toasted pine nuts or chopped nuts on top.
  • Use gluten-free pasta to make this recipe gluten free if needed.
