Description

A vibrant and spicy twist on the classic Margarita cocktail, featuring fresh jalapeño slices for a bold kick. This Mexican-inspired drink combines blanco tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, orange liqueur, and sweet agave syrup, served over ice with a chili salt rim for an extra burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cocktail

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3/4 oz orange liqueur (such as Cointreau)
  • 1/2 oz agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 2–3 slices fresh jalapeño
  • Ice

For Garnish and Glass

  • Lime wedge
  • Chili salt (for rim)
  • Lime wheel (for garnish)
  • Optional jalapeño slice (for extra spice)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: Rub the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge to moisten it, then dip the rim into chili salt to evenly coat for a spicy and flavorful edge.
  2. Muddle Jalapeño: In a cocktail shaker, add 2–3 fresh jalapeño slices and muddle gently to release the heat and aroma without overly crushing the slices.
  3. Add Liquids and Ice: Pour in 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, 3/4 oz orange liqueur, 1/2 oz agave syrup, and fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Shake the Cocktail: Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to thoroughly mix and chill the ingredients.
  5. Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass filled with fresh ice to keep it cool and refreshing.
  6. Garnish: Add a lime wheel to the rim and an optional jalapeño slice inside the drink for an appealing presentation and a touch of extra spice.

Notes

  • For a milder drink, remove the jalapeño seeds or use fewer slices.
  • You can infuse the tequila with jalapeños ahead of time for a deeper, more integrated heat.
