Description

This Spaghetti-Stuffed Garlic Bread is a delicious fusion of classic Italian flavors, combining a crusty Italian bread hollowed out and filled with savory spaghetti tossed in marinara sauce and cheeses, then baked to golden perfection with a garlic-infused olive oil crust. It’s a perfect crowd-pleaser that merges pasta and garlic bread into one hearty, comforting dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread

  • 1 large loaf of Italian bread

Spaghetti Filling

  • 2 cups cooked spaghetti
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping & Finishing

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to make sure it’s ready for baking your stuffed bread.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Slice the top off the Italian bread and carefully hollow out the inside, creating a shell that will hold the spaghetti filling without collapsing.
  3. Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with marinara sauce, half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
  4. Stuff the Bread: Fill the hollowed bread shell with the spaghetti mixture, packing it gently but firmly. Then sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Add Garlic Oil: Brush the outside of the bread with olive oil and sprinkle the minced garlic over it, which will infuse the crust with a nice garlicky flavor as it bakes.
  6. Bake Wrapped: Wrap the stuffed bread tightly in foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to heat through and melt the cheeses.
  7. Bake Unwrapped: Unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to crisp the bread and brown the cheese to a golden finish.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the stuffed garlic bread cool slightly before slicing to allow the filling to set for clean slices.

Notes

  • You can substitute Italian seasoning with a mix of dried basil, oregano, and thyme if desired.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor impact.
  • For a spicier twist, add red pepper flakes into the spaghetti mixture.
  • If you prefer a less messy option, consider cutting the bread into smaller sections before stuffing.
  • Leftovers can be warmed in the oven, wrapped in foil, to maintain crust crispness.
