Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 1 large loaf of Italian bread
Spaghetti Filling
- 2 cups cooked spaghetti
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Topping & Finishing
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to make sure it’s ready for baking your stuffed bread.
- Prepare the Bread: Slice the top off the Italian bread and carefully hollow out the inside, creating a shell that will hold the spaghetti filling without collapsing.
- Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with marinara sauce, half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Stuff the Bread: Fill the hollowed bread shell with the spaghetti mixture, packing it gently but firmly. Then sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
- Add Garlic Oil: Brush the outside of the bread with olive oil and sprinkle the minced garlic over it, which will infuse the crust with a nice garlicky flavor as it bakes.
- Bake Wrapped: Wrap the stuffed bread tightly in foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to heat through and melt the cheeses.
- Bake Unwrapped: Unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to crisp the bread and brown the cheese to a golden finish.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the stuffed garlic bread cool slightly before slicing to allow the filling to set for clean slices.
Notes
- You can substitute Italian seasoning with a mix of dried basil, oregano, and thyme if desired.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor impact.
- For a spicier twist, add red pepper flakes into the spaghetti mixture.
- If you prefer a less messy option, consider cutting the bread into smaller sections before stuffing.
- Leftovers can be warmed in the oven, wrapped in foil, to maintain crust crispness.
