Description

Snickers Salad is a delightful and indulgent dessert salad combining crisp Granny Smith apples, chopped Snickers bars, creamy vanilla pudding, and whipped topping. This no-cook, easy-to-make recipe blends sweet and crunchy textures with a hint of caramel, perfect for potlucks, parties, or a fun family treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 6 Granny Smith apples, chopped
  • 6 Snickers bars, chopped
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 8 oz Cool Whip or whipped topping

Optional Toppings

  • ¼ cup chopped peanuts
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples: Wash and core the Granny Smith apples, then chop them into bite-sized cubes. Place the chopped apples in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix the pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk the vanilla instant pudding mix with 1 cup of cold milk. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes so it thickens properly.
  3. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold the Cool Whip or whipped topping into the thickened pudding mixture until it is smooth and fluffy.
  4. Combine pudding with apples: Pour the creamy pudding mixture over the chopped apples and gently stir to coat all the apple pieces evenly.
  5. Add Snickers pieces: Fold in most of the chopped Snickers bars, reserving a few pieces for garnish on top.
  6. Chill the salad: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld and the salad to chill.
  7. Garnish and serve: Before serving, sprinkle the remaining chopped Snickers bars and optional chopped peanuts on top. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired for extra sweetness and presentation.

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith apples for their tartness and crisp texture which balances the sweetness of the Snickers and pudding.
  • For a lighter version, substitute Cool Whip with a lower-fat whipped topping or whipped cream.
  • This salad is best served chilled and consumed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
  • Optional caramel drizzle adds a lovely finishing touch but increases sugar content.
  • Ensure pudding mix is fully thickened before folding in the whipped topping to avoid a runny salad.
