Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Sausage, Egg & Cheese Crescent Rolls perfect for a hearty breakfast or brunch. These crescent rolls are filled with savory cooked sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese, baked to golden perfection for a satisfying and convenient meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Rolls

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls

Egg Mixture

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sausage

  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (or any ground sausage)

Cheese & Garnish

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat and set the sausage aside.
  3. Scramble the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Cook the Eggs: Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are fluffy and fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Assemble the Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent rolls and separate the dough into individual triangles on a flat surface.
  6. Add Fillings: Place a spoonful of cooked sausage in the center of each crescent triangle, followed by a small amount of scrambled eggs and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Roll Up: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll up each crescent triangle to enclose the filling. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet with the seam side down.
  8. Bake: Bake the crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm for a comforting breakfast treat.

Notes

  • You can substitute breakfast sausage with turkey sausage for a leaner option.
  • Feel free to use your favorite type of cheese such as mozzarella or pepper jack for different flavor profiles.
  • For added vegetables, consider mixing diced bell peppers or onions into the scrambled eggs.
  • Make sure not to overfill the crescent rolls to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
  • These rolls can be prepared ahead of time and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
