Description

This Sausage Cheese Dip is a creamy, spicy appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings. Combining melted Velveeta cheese, savory browned sausage, and Ro*Tel diced tomatoes with green chilies, it offers a rich and flavorful dip that is quick and easy to prepare in just minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (16 oz) Velveeta cheese, diced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 pound Odom’s Tennessee Pride Mild Country Sausage, browned and drained
  • 1 can (10 oz) Ro*Tel Original Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies, not drained

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a microwave-safe bowl, add the diced Velveeta cheese, browned and drained sausage, and the entire can of Ro*Tel with liquid included. This ensures all flavors mingle during the melting process.
  2. Microwave Heating: Place the bowl in the microwave and heat on HIGH power for 5 minutes. After 3 minutes, stop and stir thoroughly to promote even melting and heating, then continue microwaving the remaining time.
  3. Serve and Enjoy: Once heated and fully melted, stir the dip well and serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure the sausage is fully cooked and drained to prevent excess grease in the dip.
  • You can adjust the spice level by choosing either original, mild, or hot Ro*Tel diced tomatoes.
  • For a smoother dip, stir occasionally during the microwaving process.
  • This dip can also be prepared on the stovetop by combining ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until melted.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
