Ingredients
Scale
Peach Filling
- 2 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
Cinnamon Rolls
- 1 package (16 oz) cinnamon roll dough
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Topping and Glaze
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A splash of milk (for glaze consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the rolls.
- Prepare Peach Mixture: In a bowl, mix sliced peaches with 1/2 cup brown sugar and let sit for about 10 minutes to macerate and release their juices.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the cinnamon roll dough on a floured surface. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle additional brown sugar over it. Layer the peach mixture evenly on top of the butter and sugar.
- Form Rolls: Carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Cut the log into 12 even slices, each about 1 to 2 inches thick.
- Arrange and Add Cream: Place the sliced rolls into a greased baking dish, ensuring they have some space to expand. Pour 1/4 cup heavy cream evenly over the rolls to keep them moist during baking.
- Bake Rolls: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Make Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a splash of milk until smooth and pourable to create the glaze.
- Glaze and Serve: Once the rolls have finished baking and are still warm, drizzle the glaze generously over the top before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh ripe peaches for the best flavor; canned peaches can be used as a substitute but drain them well.
- Adjust the thickness of the glaze by adding more or less milk to your desired consistency.
- Make sure to let the peach mixture sit so the sugar draws out the natural juices and intensifies the flavor.
- You can substitute light brown sugar with dark brown sugar for a deeper molasses flavor.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute butter and cream with plant-based alternatives.
- These rolls are best enjoyed warm and fresh but can be reheated gently before serving.
