Ingredients
Scale
Sandwiches
- 1 (12-ct) package King’s Hawaiian Rolls
- ¾ lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
- 3 Tbsp creamy horseradish sauce, divided
- 8 slices white American cheese
Sauce
- 6 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) to prepare for baking the sandwiches.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Carefully split each King’s Hawaiian roll in half. Spread a small amount of the creamy horseradish sauce on the bottom halves. Layer the sliced roast beef and white American cheese on the bottom rolls, then cover with the top halves. Arrange all the sandwiches snugly in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, remaining 1 tablespoon horseradish sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and blend flavors.
- Pour Sauce and Bake: Pour the hot sauce evenly over the assembled sandwiches in the baking pan, ensuring all are well coated. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, until the tops of the sandwiches are browned and crispy, the cheese is melted, and the sauce is bubbly.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add caramelized onions or pickles inside the sandwiches before baking.
- These sandwiches can be made ahead of time assembled but bake just before serving to ensure crispiness.
- Leftovers can be reheated covered with foil in a 350ºF oven until warmed through.
