Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo Balls, also known as Oreo Truffles, combine crushed Oreos and cream cheese, dipped in smooth melted chocolate for a perfect bite-sized treat. These no-bake truffles are ideal for parties, holidays, or as a sweet snack anyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 36 Oreos (original, not Double Stuf), plus 3 more for topping if desired
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz vanilla or chocolate candy melts (or melted white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate)

Optional Topping

  • 3 Oreos crushed for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line an 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper to place the truffles after forming.
  2. Crush Oreos: Place 36 Oreos whole (including cream filling) in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
  3. Combine with cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and pulse in short bursts until the mixture is well combined and forms a smooth dough.
  4. Form balls: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture at a time and roll into 1-inch balls. Arrange the formed balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Freeze: Place the truffle balls in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up. Meanwhile, crush the remaining 3 Oreos to be used as topping.
  6. Melt chocolate: Melt the candy melts or chocolate according to package instructions, ensuring it is smooth and pourable.
  7. Dip truffles: Remove the balls from the freezer and dip each one into the melted chocolate. Use a spoon to drizzle additional chocolate over the top for full coverage, then lift and allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  8. Add toppings: Immediately after dipping, sprinkle the tops of the truffles with the crushed Oreos if desired. Return them to the baking sheet to set.
  9. Set and store: Allow the chocolate coating to fully harden. Store the finished truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a peppermint variation, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the melted chocolate before dipping.
  • Make sure cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
  • You can use any flavor of candy melts or chocolate you prefer.
  • Store truffles refrigerated and consume within one week for best freshness.
