Description

A comforting and easy one-pan chicken dish featuring tender boneless, skinless chicken breasts cooked to perfection in a creamy, buttery sauce with egg noodles. This recipe combines sautéed garlic, rich chicken broth, and Parmesan cheese for a flavorful meal that comes together in just 35 minutes, perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Sauce and Noodles

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. Place them in the skillet and sear for 5-6 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook the Noodles: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir in the egg noodles, then cover the skillet. Cook the noodles for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become tender and have absorbed the flavors.
  3. Combine & Finish: Stir in the butter and grated Parmesan cheese into the noodles and sauce mixture until they melt and create a creamy texture. Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the noodles and sauce. Let the chicken warm through for a couple of minutes.
  4. Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired and serve the chicken and buttered noodles warm for a delicious, hearty meal.

Notes

  • Ensure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety and juiciness.
  • Stir the noodles occasionally to prevent sticking and achieve even cooking.
  • Use fresh Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and creamy texture.
  • Optional garnish of parsley adds freshness and color.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, although it will be less rich.
