Description

This No Bake Peanut Butter Pie is a creamy, decadent dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust, a smooth peanut butter and cream cheese filling, topped with instant chocolate pudding and whipped topping. Perfect for when you want a delicious pie without turning on the oven, it combines rich flavors and easy preparation into a crowd-pleasing treat ideal for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 package Oreo cookies (regular or double stuffed)
  • ¾ stick butter, melted

Peanut Butter Filling

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 16 oz. Cool Whip, divided

Chocolate Pudding Topping

  • 5.9 oz. instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups milk (or as indicated on pudding package)

Garnish

  • About 5 Oreo cookies, crumbled (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreos: Set aside about 5 Oreos if you wish to use them for garnish later.
  2. Make Oreo crumbs: Pulse the remaining Oreos finely in a food processor until you achieve fine crumbs. You may also crush them by hand if a processor is unavailable.
  3. Form crust: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter with Oreo crumbs. Then, press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan, forming the pie crust layer.
  4. Mix filling: Using an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Add half of the Cool Whip, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Beat on medium-high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Assemble filling: Spread the peanut butter filling evenly over the Oreo crust in the pan.
  6. Prepare pudding: Follow package instructions to combine instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk. Once the pudding sets, spread it evenly over the peanut butter filling layer.
  7. Add whipped topping: Spread the remaining Cool Whip evenly over the chocolate pudding layer to finish the pie.
  8. Garnish: Decorate the top with the reserved crumbled Oreos or chocolate shavings, if desired.
  9. Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow all layers to set and flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

  • This pie requires no baking, making it a quick and easy dessert option.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened for a smooth filling without lumps.
  • If using a different size pan, adjust the thickness of the layers accordingly.
  • For extra peanut butter flavor, swirl some peanut butter on top before chilling.
  • The pie can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
