Ingredients
Scale
Cookies
- 20 regular Oreo cookies (half of a 439 g package)
Chocolate and Flavoring
- 680 g white chocolate morsels
- 0.25–0.5 teaspoons mint extract, to taste
- Green food coloring, as needed
Instructions
- Prepare the Oreos: Break Oreo cookies into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl, setting them aside for incorporation into the chocolate mixture.
- Melt the chocolate: Using a double boiler or microwave, melt the white chocolate morsels according to package instructions until fully smooth and silky in texture.
- Add flavor and color: Quickly stir in the mint extract and your desired amount of green food coloring into the melted chocolate for that refreshing flavor and festive look. Then fold in the broken Oreo pieces gently until evenly distributed throughout the chocolate.
- Set the bark: Pour the mint Oreo chocolate mixture into a baking pan lined with wax paper, spreading it evenly to form a uniform layer. Place the pan in the freezer to chill for approximately two hours, allowing the bark to harden completely.
- Serve: Once hardened, remove the bark from the freezer and break it into bite-sized pieces. Serve chilled and enjoy this refreshing minty treat.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of mint extract and green food coloring according to your personal taste preference.
- To melt white chocolate smoothly, use gentle heat in the microwave in short bursts or a double boiler to prevent burning.
- Store leftover bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
- Using wax paper helps to easily remove the bark from the pan once set.
- For a firmer bark, chilling in the freezer is preferred over refrigeration.
