Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup vanilla or chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
Wet Ingredients
- ¼ cup almond butter or peanut butter
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk of choice (if needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, protein powder, and chia seeds (if using) thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
- Add wet ingredients: Stir in the almond butter, honey, and peppermint extract. Mix well until a dough starts to form. If the mixture feels too dry, add milk one tablespoon at a time until the dough holds together.
- Incorporate chocolate chips: Fold in the mini chocolate chips gently to evenly distribute them throughout the mixture without breaking them.
- Form balls: Scoop out approximately one-inch portions of dough and roll them between your hands to create uniform balls.
- Chill and firm up: Place the formed balls on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to allow them to firm up before serving.
Notes
- Store these protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For longer storage, freeze the protein balls and thaw before eating.
- For a natural green tint and additional health benefits, consider adding a pinch of matcha or spirulina powder to the mixture.
