Description

This rich and creamy Macadamia Nut Fudge recipe blends smooth semisweet chocolate with sweetened condensed milk and crunchy macadamia nuts. The fudge is easy to prepare on the stovetop, resulting in luscious, melt-in-your-mouth squares perfect for gifting or indulging at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Ingredients

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips (18 ounces), high quality like Ghirardelli or Guittard
  • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk (such as Eagle Brand)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8-inch square pan with regular foil and coat the foil lightly with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside to keep the fudge from sticking and make removal easier.
  2. Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a large heavy saucepan, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and a pinch of salt. Cook over low heat, stirring continuously until the chocolate chips are mostly melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add Flavoring and Nuts: Remove the pan from heat and stir in the pure vanilla extract vigorously until fully incorporated. Then fold in the chopped macadamia nuts evenly into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Transfer and Chill: Spoon the thick fudge mixture into the prepared foil-lined pan and smooth the top with the back of a spoon or a rubber spatula. It will have some texture from the nuts but aim for an even surface. Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for about 2 hours or until the fudge is firm enough to cut.
  5. Cut and Serve: Once firm, use the foil edges to lift the fudge out of the pan. Gently peel away the foil and cut the fudge into 1-inch squares. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for best flavor and texture.
  • Ensure the heat is low to avoid scorching the chocolate while melting.
  • For a different nut option, walnuts or pecans can be substituted for macadamia nuts.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container refrigerated to maintain freshness for up to two weeks.
  • Allow fudge to come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving for a creamier texture.
