Description

Delicious and easy leftover ham and cheese sliders made with sweet Hawaiian rolls, melted Swiss or cheddar cheese, and savory ham, perfect for quick snacks or party appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 cups leftover ham, sliced
  • 8 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Poppy seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  3. Assemble Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. On the bottom halves, layer the sliced ham evenly and then place the cheese slices on top.
  4. Top and Season: Place the top halves of the rolls back onto the layered bottoms. Brush the tops generously with melted butter and sprinkle poppy seeds over them if desired for added flavor and texture.
  5. Bake: Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through and the tops turn golden brown.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly to set before slicing and serving warm for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • You can use Swiss or cheddar cheese based on your preference or what you have available.
  • For a little extra flavor, consider adding a spread like mustard or mayonnaise on the rolls before layering ham and cheese.
  • Poppy seeds are optional but add a nice crunch and visual appeal to the sliders.
  • These sliders are perfect to make ahead and reheat for quick snacks or parties.
