Wet Ingredients

Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it to prevent sticking.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use a mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture becomes smooth and fluffy, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract to combine evenly.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until uniformly blended.
- Mix Dry into Wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined to avoid overmixing.
- Add Chocolate Chips and Walnuts: Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, if using, making sure the mix-ins are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
