Ingredients
Scale
Fruit and Herbs
- 1 ripe kiwi, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
- 6–8 fresh mint leaves
Liquids and Sweeteners
- 1 tablespoon sugar (or to taste)
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- 2 ounces white rum
- 1/4 cup club soda or sparkling water
Other
- Ice cubes
- Extra mint, kiwi slices, and blueberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Muddle the Fruit and Mint: In a cocktail shaker or sturdy glass, muddle the kiwi slices, blueberries, mint leaves, and sugar together until the fruit is broken down and juicy, releasing their fresh flavors.
- Add Liquids and Ice: Pour in the fresh lime juice and white rum. Fill the shaker with ice cubes to chill the drink thoroughly.
- Shake the Cocktail: Secure the shaker and shake well for about 10–15 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and combined.
- Strain and Serve: Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with ice cubes to keep it cool without the pulp or muddled solids.
- Top and Garnish: Add club soda or sparkling water on top for a bubbly finish and stir gently to combine. Garnish with extra mint sprigs, a kiwi slice, and a few blueberries if desired. Serve immediately for the best refreshing experience.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and increase the sparkling water to maintain the volume and bubbly texture.
- You can easily scale up the ingredients to create a pitcher for parties or larger gatherings.
- Adjust the sugar amount to your taste preference or substitute with a natural sweetener like honey or agave syrup.
