Ingredients

Scale

Lime Gelatin Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box lime gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice

White Cream Layer

  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Orange Gelatin Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box orange gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice

Topping

  • Whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • Green and orange sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare lime gelatin: Dissolve the lime gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice, mixing well.
  2. Set lime layer: Pour the lime mixture into 2-ounce shot glasses, filling each about one-third full. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, or until set.
  3. Prepare white cream gelatin: Sprinkle 2 packets of unflavored gelatin over 1 cup of cold water in a small saucepan and let sit for 1-2 minutes. Heat over low heat, stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the sweetened condensed milk. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  4. Add white layer: Once the lime gelatin layer is set, pour the white mixture over it in the shot glasses, filling another one-third of the glass. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, or until set.
  5. Prepare orange gelatin: Dissolve the orange gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice, mixing well. Cool to room temperature before using.
  6. Add orange layer: Pour the orange gelatin mixture over the white layer in each shot glass, filling to the top. Refrigerate for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until fully set.
  7. Add toppings and serve: Before serving, top each shot with whipped cream or Cool Whip and sprinkle with green and orange sprinkles. Serve chilled and enjoy your festive Irish Jello Shots!

Notes

  • Use apple juice or white grape juice for a mild, complementary flavor; avoid dark juices which can affect gelatin texture.
  • Ensure each gelatin layer is completely set before adding the next to achieve distinct layers.
  • Cooling the white and orange gelatin mixtures to room temperature before layering prevents melting the previous layers.
  • Shot glasses should be about 2 ounces for perfect portion sizes.
  • This recipe yields 32 servings, perfect for parties or gatherings.
  • Keep the shots refrigerated until just before serving to maintain firmness and freshness.
