Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup oat flour
- 1/2 cup vanilla or cookies & cream protein powder
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup almond butter (or any nut butter)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk of choice (as needed)
Add-ins
- 6 Oreo cookies, crushed
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to evenly distribute all dry components.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Stir in the almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract into the dry mix. Mix thoroughly until a dough starts to form.
- Adjust Consistency with Milk: If the mixture is too dry or crumbly, add the milk one tablespoon at a time until the dough is soft and pliable enough to shape.
- Fold in Oreo Crumbles: Gently fold the crushed Oreo cookies into the dough, reserving a small amount for topping if desired.
- Shape Balls: Roll the dough into 12 equal-sized balls, placing them on a parchment-lined plate or container to prevent sticking.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the Oreo protein balls for at least 20 minutes to firm up before serving. Optionally, sprinkle reserved cookie crumbles on top before chilling.
- Store Properly: Keep the protein balls stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week to maintain freshness.
Notes
- To make this recipe vegan, use vegan protein powder and dairy-free milk alternatives.
- For a lower-sugar option, substitute traditional Oreos with sugar-free sandwich cookies and use a sugar-free syrup alternative such as erythritol syrup.
