Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, or apricots)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds)
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup nut butter (almond or peanut)
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, chopped nuts, and dried fruits until evenly distributed.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the nut butter and honey or maple syrup. Stir well until the mixture becomes smooth and well blended.
- Combine All Ingredients: Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir thoroughly until all the dry ingredients are fully coated with the wet mixture.
- Press and Bake: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it firmly down using a spatula or lightly greased hands to create an even layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is lightly golden.
- Cool and Slice: Remove the dish from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the baking dish. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into 12 even squares to serve.
Notes
- You can customize the dried fruits and nuts based on your personal preference or dietary needs.
- For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
- Store the cereal bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or refrigerate for longer freshness.
- If you want chewier bars, reduce the baking time slightly.
- Pressing the mixture firmly helps the bars hold together better after baking.
