Description

These Ham and Cheese Sliders are a perfect party snack or quick meal, featuring Hawaiian rolls filled with savory ham and Swiss cheese, topped with a flavorful butter mixture that creates a golden, delicious crust when baked.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 (12-pack) Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices cooked deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese

Butter Topping

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare dish. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent the sliders from sticking.
  2. Make butter mixture. In a small bowl, thoroughly combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder to create a savory topping.
  3. Slice rolls. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping them connected so they can be layered easily inside the baking dish.
  4. Layer ham and cheese. In the prepared baking dish, place the bottom halves of the rolls, then layer half of the ham slices, cover with all the Swiss cheese slices, and then layer the remaining ham on top.
  5. Add top rolls and butter mixture. Place the top halves of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered ham and cheese, then pour the butter mixture evenly across the top to ensure flavorful coverage.
  6. Bake covered. Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, allowing the ingredients to melt and meld together.
  7. Bake uncovered to brown. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Slice and serve. After baking, slice the sliders apart with a sharp knife and serve warm for best flavor.

Notes

  • For a spicier variation, add a small amount of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
  • Use different cheeses like cheddar or provolone for varied flavor profiles.
  • Make ahead by assembling the sliders without baking, then cover and refrigerate; bake just before serving.
  • These sliders freeze well; wrap tightly and reheat in the oven when ready.
  • To add extra veggies, layer thinly sliced pickles or sautéed onions inside the sliders.
