Description

These Ham and Cheese Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or meal perfect for gatherings and family dinners. Featuring soft Hawaiian rolls layered with savory deli ham and Swiss cheese, then baked with a flavorful butter and mustard topping infused with poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder, these sliders come out warm, gooey, and irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 (12-pack) Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices cooked deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese

Topping Sauce

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Topping Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder until well combined to create the flavorful glaze for the sliders.
  3. Prepare Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Layer Ingredients: Evenly layer half of the deli ham slices on the bottom rolls, then place all the Swiss cheese slices on top of the ham, followed by the remaining ham slices to create a delicious layered filling.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Place the top halves of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered ham and cheese to enclose the filling.
  6. Add Butter Mixture and Bake: Pour the butter and mustard mixture evenly over the top of the rolls, making sure to cover all surfaces. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
  7. Brown the Tops: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes until the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Slice and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice between the rolls and serve warm for best flavor.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh Hawaiian rolls and good quality deli ham and cheese.
  • Poppy seeds add a slight crunch and nutty flavor but can be omitted if unavailable.
  • You can add a little garlic powder or dried herbs to the butter mixture for extra flavor.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated, then baked when ready to serve.
  • Serve with mustard or your favorite dipping sauce for an extra kick.
