Description

This Golden Milk recipe is a soothing and aromatic beverage made with coconut milk and a blend of warming spices including turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and black pepper. Enhanced with coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla, it offers a creamy, naturally sweetened drink known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and comforting flavors. Perfect for a relaxing evening or a wellness boost any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

Golden Milk Ingredients

  • 2 cups O Organics coconut milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Pinch black pepper
  • Pinch freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey) (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon (for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large saucepan, over medium heat, combine the coconut milk, ground turmeric, cinnamon stick, ground ginger, black pepper, freshly ground nutmeg, coconut oil, and maple syrup.
  2. Heat and Boil: Bring the mixture to a low boil, stirring occasionally to blend all the flavors well.
  3. Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer gently for 10 minutes to allow the spices to infuse deeply into the milk.
  4. Strain and Add Vanilla: Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove all solid spice bits. Discard the solids. Stir in the vanilla extract, then taste and adjust the sweetness with more maple syrup if desired.
  5. Serve: Pour the golden milk into cups and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Serve warm for the best flavor and comfort.

Notes

  • You can substitute honey for maple syrup if preferred.
  • Use full-fat coconut milk for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Adjust spice quantities to your taste preference.
  • Straining is important to achieve a smooth drink without gritty bits.
  • This drink is naturally caffeine-free and suitable for evening consumption.
