Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a large saucepan, over medium heat, combine the coconut milk, ground turmeric, cinnamon stick, ground ginger, black pepper, freshly ground nutmeg, coconut oil, and maple syrup.
- Heat and Boil: Bring the mixture to a low boil, stirring occasionally to blend all the flavors well.
- Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer gently for 10 minutes to allow the spices to infuse deeply into the milk.
- Strain and Add Vanilla: Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove all solid spice bits. Discard the solids. Stir in the vanilla extract, then taste and adjust the sweetness with more maple syrup if desired.
