Description

This Garlic Parmesan Grilled Chicken recipe features tender, bite-sized pieces of boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs seasoned with Cajun spices, grilled to perfection, and tossed in a rich garlic butter and Parmesan cheese sauce. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s a flavorful and easy-to-make dish perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 pound boneless and skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons Parmigiano Reggiano (parmesan cheese), grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat to ensure it is hot and ready for cooking the chicken evenly.
  2. Prepare the garlic Parmesan sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Continue to cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and combined. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Season the chicken: Season the bite-sized chicken pieces evenly with Cajun seasoning, ensuring each piece is well coated for maximum flavor.
  4. Grill the chicken: Place the seasoned chicken pieces on the preheated grill and cook for 6–8 minutes per side, or until fully cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C) to ensure safety and juiciness.
  5. Coat with sauce: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and immediately toss it in the prepared garlic Parmesan sauce, making sure each piece is fully coated to absorb the flavorful sauce.
  6. Serve: Serve the garlic Parmesan grilled chicken immediately, optionally garnished with extra parsley and Parmesan cheese for a fresh and savory finish.

Notes

  • Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for juicier, more flavorful results or chicken breasts for a leaner option.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the heat level or omit if you prefer no spice.
  • The grilled chicken pieces can also be cooked on a grill pan indoors if outdoor grilling is not available.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad to complete your meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
