Description

These Easy Smashburger Quesadillas combine crispy, cheesy goodness with juicy smashed beef patties for a quick and irresistible American main course. Perfect for a satisfying dinner, they offer the flavors of a classic cheeseburger wrapped in a crispy tortilla, made right on the stovetop.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Quesadillas

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • ½ cup diced pickles (optional)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef patties: In a bowl, season the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape each into thin, flat patties slightly smaller than the tortillas.
  2. Cook the patties: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly grease with butter or oil. Place a patty in the pan and press down firmly with a spatula to smash it flat. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until fully cooked and crispy on the edges. Remove and repeat with the remaining patties.
  3. Assemble the quesadillas: Wipe the skillet clean if needed, then place a tortilla in the pan. On one half, layer shredded cheese, one smashed burger patty, chopped onions, pickles (if using), and drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. Top with more cheese and fold the tortilla in half.
  4. Cook the quesadillas: Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, pressing down with a spatula, until the tortilla is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  5. Serve: Slice the quesadillas and serve hot for a delicious, cheesy meal.

Notes

  • Customize with your favorite burger toppings such as jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, or BBQ sauce for added flavor.
  • For a low-carb option, substitute flour tortillas with low-carb tortillas or lettuce wraps.
