Description

These Easy Pecan Pie Bars combine a buttery, flaky crust with a rich, sweet pecan filling, creating a delightful twist on classic pecan pie. Perfect for dessert or a festive treat, these bars are simple to make and sure to impress with their gooey texture and nutty flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Filling

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups pecan halves or chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Bake Crust: Press the crust mixture evenly into the prepared pan creating a firm, even layer. Bake for 12-15 minutes until it turns lightly golden. Remove from oven and let it cool.
  4. Prepare Filling: While the crust cools, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Add Pecans: Stir in the pecan halves or chopped pecans evenly into the filling mixture.
  6. Assemble and Bake: Pour the pecan filling over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until the filling is set and golden brown around the edges. Allow to cool completely.
  7. Serve: Once cooled, slice into squares and enjoy your delicious pecan pie bars.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter for the crust is very cold to achieve a flaky texture.
  • Use parchment paper for easier removal and cleaner cuts.
  • Allow bars to cool fully before slicing to prevent the filling from oozing out.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • These bars can be served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
