Description

This DIY Orange Spiced Sugar Scrub is a luxurious, homemade exfoliant designed to gently remove dead skin cells while nourishing your skin with sweet almond oil and warm, comforting spices like cinnamon and allspice. Infused with sweet orange essential oil, this scrub leaves your skin feeling soft, refreshed, and lightly fragranced. Perfect for a spa-like treatment at home, it’s easy to make, natural, and long-lasting when stored properly.

Ingredients

Scale

Scrub Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • â…“ cup sweet almond oil (see notes for alternatives)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice or pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 5-8 drops sweet orange essential oil

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, sweet almond oil, ground cinnamon, allspice, vanilla extract, and sweet orange essential oil. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well blended into a consistent scrub mixture.
  2. Store the Scrub: Pour the mixed sugar scrub into an airtight glass container such as a mason jar. Seal tightly to preserve freshness. Use the scrub within six months for best results.
  3. Apply the Scrub: With clean hands, scoop out about a quarter-sized amount of the scrub. Massage gently onto damp skin in circular motions to exfoliate. For increased exfoliation, use an exfoliating glove or brush.
  4. Rinse Off: After massaging for a minute or two, rinse off the scrub thoroughly with warm water. Pat skin dry and enjoy the softened, revitalized feeling.

Notes

  • Sweet almond oil can be substituted with jojoba oil, coconut oil, or olive oil depending on skin sensitivity and preference.
  • Essential oils should be used sparingly and with caution. If you have sensitive skin, perform a patch test before full application.
  • Store the scrub in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maximize shelf life.
  • This scrub is for external use only; avoid contact with eyes.
