Description

This Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy recipe is a comforting and easy-to-make slow cooker dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a creamy, flavorful gravy made from condensed soup and chicken gravy mix. Perfect for a hassle-free family dinner, it pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes or rice.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Vegetables

  • 1 cup diced yellow onions
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Gravy Mixture

  • 10.5 oz can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  • â…“ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon ground sage
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker: Spray the inside of the Crock Pot with cooking spray to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  2. Layer the onions and chicken: Place the diced yellow onions in the bottom of the Crock Pot. Arrange the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a single layer on top of the onions for even cooking.
  3. Mix the gravy: In a separate bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix packets, water, ground sage, black pepper, and parsley flakes until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Cook the chicken: Pour the prepared gravy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the Crock Pot. Cover with the lid and cook on LOW for 5 hours, allowing the chicken to become tender and infused with the savory flavors of the gravy.
  5. Finish and serve: After 5 hours, remove the lid and stir the chicken and gravy together, shredding or breaking the chicken breasts apart as you stir. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice for a hearty meal.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a clove of minced garlic to the gravy mixture.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or pork for the chicken breasts if preferred.
  • Adjust the seasoning to taste, adding salt if desired, as the soup and gravy mix can be salty.
  • This dish freezes well; save leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or a side salad for a balanced meal.
