Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Seasonings
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning on both sides to infuse them with flavor.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté it for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not burned, to bring out its rich aroma.
- Make the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for a couple of minutes to reduce slightly. Then, add the heavy cream and stir continuously to combine all the flavors and create a creamy texture.
- Add Cheese and Combine: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes. Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top to coat them well. Simmer everything together for another 3-4 minutes so the chicken absorbs the flavors.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot with your choice of side dish such as rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh garlic rather than garlic powder for more vibrant flavor.
- If you prefer a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking of the chicken breasts.
- You can add a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce for a slight tang if desired.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop or microwave.
