Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 8 oz crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Wrapper and Cooking
- Wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying or spray for air fryer
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, softened cream cheese, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and form a creamy filling.
- Fill the wontons: Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab filling in the center of each wonton wrapper, ensuring not to overfill for easy sealing.
- Seal the wontons: Moisten the edges of the wonton wrappers with a little water to help them seal. Fold and pinch the edges to form a pouch shape, making sure they are tightly sealed to prevent leaking during cooking.
- Cook the Crab Rangoon Bombs: Choose your preferred cooking method:
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 7–8 minutes until golden and crispy, spraying with oil before cooking for best results.
- Deep fry in oil heated to 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (205°C) for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning.
- Serve: Enjoy the Crab Rangoon Bombs warm with your favorite dipping sauces such as sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or duck sauce for an irresistible appetizer experience.
Notes
- For a healthier option, opt for air frying or baking instead of deep frying.
- Ensure the wonton wrappers are sealed tightly to prevent filling leakage during cooking.
- Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor, but canned or imitation crab works fine as well.
- Serve immediately after cooking for maximum crispiness.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the air fryer or oven to restore crispiness.
