Ingredients
Scale
Nut Mixture
- 2 cups mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts), any combination
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Butter Mixture
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Coat: In a large bowl, melt the unsalted butter and stir in the vanilla extract. Add the mixed nuts to the butter mixture and toss thoroughly to coat all the nuts evenly. Then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the nuts and toss again until the nuts are evenly coated with the cinnamon sugar.
- Bake: Spread the coated nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through baking to ensure even cooking and prevent burning. The nuts should turn golden and fragrant.
- Cool: Remove the baking sheet from the oven once the nuts are golden and toasted. Allow the nuts to cool completely on the baking sheet. The coating will harden as they cool, creating a crisp candied shell.
Notes
- Ensure that nuts are spread out evenly on the baking sheet for uniform roasting.
- Stir halfway through baking to prevent the sugar from burning.
- Once cooled, store in an airtight container to keep them fresh and crunchy.
- Feel free to customize the nuts based on your preference, such as adding cashews or hazelnuts.
- Use parchment paper or silicone mats to avoid sticking and for easier cleanup.
