Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Noodles and Sauce
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 4 tablespoons butter (total)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
Garnish
- Parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside for later use.
- Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper evenly on both sides.
- Cook Chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and fully cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest before slicing.
- Make Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter along with the minced garlic. Cook until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add Broth: Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Use a spatula to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet to add flavor to the sauce.
- Toss Noodles: Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet, tossing them well to coat them evenly in the garlic butter and broth sauce.
- Serve: Slice the rested chicken breasts and serve them over the buttered noodles. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving for a burst of color and freshness.
Notes
- Use skinless, boneless chicken breasts for easier cooking and slicing.
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the chicken broth with white wine.
- To add vegetables, try sautéing mushrooms or spinach in the skillet before adding the garlic.
- Be sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it tender and juicy.
- Use fresh parsley for best garnish appearance and taste.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
