Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
Flatbread Toppings
- 4 flatbreads or naan
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced pickles
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- Shredded lettuce (optional)
- Diced tomato (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the flatbreads.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5–6 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat from the pan. Then, stir in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, and yellow mustard. Simmer the mixture for 2–3 minutes to meld the flavors, then remove from heat.
- Assemble the Flatbreads: Place the flatbreads evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the seasoned beef mixture evenly over each flatbread, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Add diced pickles and finely chopped red onion evenly over the cheese layer.
- Bake: Bake the assembled flatbreads in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the edges of the flatbreads are lightly crisp.
- Add Fresh Toppings and Serve: Remove the flatbreads from the oven and optionally top with shredded lettuce and diced tomato for extra freshness and texture. Slice into portions and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or plant-based crumbles for the beef for a different protein option.
- For a spicy twist, add sliced jalapeños or drizzle spicy mayo over the flatbreads before serving.
- This recipe is ideal for quick dinners as well as appetizing party snacks or casual gatherings.
