Dip Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (or milk, for a lighter texture)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
- Pinch of salt
Optional Dippers
- Strawberries
- Apple slices
- Pretzels
- Graham crackers
Instructions
- Beat Cream Cheese and Butter: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add Sugars and Cocoa: Add powdered sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. Beat on low speed until combined, then increase to medium speed and continue beating until the mixture is smooth.
- Incorporate Vanilla, Cream, and Salt: Add vanilla extract, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Beat until fully incorporated and the dip is thick and creamy, about 1 minute.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Stir mini chocolate chips into the mixture by hand using a spatula to evenly distribute them.
- Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, sprinkle with additional mini chocolate chips, and serve immediately with your choice of dippers such as strawberries, apple slices, pretzels, or graham crackers.
Notes
- This dip can be made ahead and refrigerated. Bring to room temperature before serving for best texture.
- Use milk instead of heavy cream for a lighter, less rich dip.
- Try different dippers like vanilla wafers or biscotti for variety.
- For a vegan version, substitute cream cheese and butter with plant-based alternatives.
