Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 9 mini pretzel slider buns, sliced into top and bottom halves
- 16 oz ground pork sausage
- 4–5 strips bacon
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 4 slices Colby Jack cheese
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Optional Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish or baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Cook the bacon: Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook the bacon strips until they are crisp. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess fat.
- Cook the sausage: Carefully drain off all but about 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease from the pan. Add the ground pork sausage to the skillet and cook it over medium heat until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Remove the pan from the heat once the sausage is cooked through.
- Scramble the eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Heat a second skillet over medium heat and melt part of the butter. Pour in the egg mixture and softly scramble them until just set, ensuring they remain fluffy and moist.
- Assemble the sliders: Lay the bottom halves of the pretzel buns in the prepared baking dish. On top of each, evenly layer cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, slices of Colby Jack cheese, and crispy bacon. Then top each with the corresponding pretzel bun top halves.
- Prepare the glaze: Melt the remaining butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then stir in the maple syrup. Brush this buttery maple glaze generously over the tops of all the slider buns, adding a sweet and glossy finish.
- Bake the sliders: Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are warmed through.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve the sliders warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can substitute Colby Jack cheese with sharp cheddar or pepper jack.
- If you prefer, turkey sausage can be a leaner alternative to pork sausage.
- The sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated; simply increase baking time slightly to ensure they are heated through.
- Use fresh pretzel buns or soft pretzel rolls for the ideal texture—frozen or stale buns may not yield the same result.
- To make the eggs fluffier, you can add a splash of cream instead of milk or cook them gently over low heat.
