Description

These Breakfast Flatbreads with Sausage and Bacon combine crispy bacon, savory sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheeses atop soft flatbreads for a delicious and hearty morning meal. Quick to prepare and easy to customize, they are perfect for a satisfying breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 flatbreads (such as naan or pre-baked pizza crust)
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 ounces breakfast sausage
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
  2. Cook Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until they are crisp. Remove and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  3. Cook Sausage: Using the same skillet, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it up into small pieces as it browns. Continue cooking until fully cooked through, then remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Scramble Eggs: In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the eggs with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and gently scramble until just set but still moist.
  5. Assemble Flatbreads: Lay the flatbreads on the prepared baking sheet. Evenly distribute the scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and diced bell peppers if using, across each flatbread.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the edges of the flatbreads are lightly crisped.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove the flatbreads from the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • These flatbreads can be prepared ahead of time and reheated in an oven or air fryer for convenience.
  • For a spicy twist, add jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the toppings.
  • You can substitute the eggs with egg whites or add spinach for additional vegetables and nutrients.
