Ingredients
Scale
Pasta Salad
- 2 ½ cups uncooked bow tie pasta
- 6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 4 cooked bacon strips, chopped
Dressing
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1 Tablespoon barbecue sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Cook the bow tie pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta thoroughly, then rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool the pasta for the salad.
- Combine Salad Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, diced tomato, chopped cooked bacon, and the cooled bow tie pasta. Mix gently to distribute ingredients evenly.
- Add Dressing and Season: Drizzle the ranch dressing and barbecue sauce over the pasta mixture. Toss gently to coat all ingredients evenly with the dressing. Finally, sprinkle with black pepper, toss lightly again, and serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- For best results, make sure the pasta is fully cooled before mixing to prevent wilting of the lettuce.
- Bacon can be cooked in advance and refrigerated for convenience.
- You can substitute ranch dressing with a lighter option or a homemade vinaigrette for a different flavor profile.
- This salad is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to a day; however, lettuce may soften over time.
