Ingredients
Scale
Beef and Onion
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Sweet Potatoes
- 2 sweet potatoes, cut into small strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Toppings
- 10 oz romaine lettuce, chopped
- 3 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup pickles, diced (optional)
- 1 cup shredded yellow cheddar cheese
Sauce
- â…“ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Roast Sweet Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the sweet potato strips with 2 tablespoons of olive oil until they are well coated. Spread them out evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to avoid sticking and promote even roasting. Roast in the oven for 40 minutes, turning or tossing occasionally to ensure they become tender inside and develop a slightly crispy exterior.
- Brown Beef: While the sweet potatoes roast, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion first and cook until it softens and becomes translucent, releasing its sweetness. Then add the ground beef to the pan. Break it up with a spatula and continue to cook until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink, stirring frequently to ensure even cooking.
- Assemble Bowls: Once the beef and sweet potatoes are ready, divide the chopped romaine lettuce evenly among three bowls. Add the cooked beef and onions on top of the lettuce. Follow by adding diced tomatoes, pickles if using, and shredded cheddar cheese, equally portioned into each bowl.
- Make Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Whisk thoroughly to blend all the flavors into a smooth and creamy sauce.
- Serve: Add the roasted sweet potato fries to each bowl as the final layer. Drizzle the prepared sauce over the assembled ingredients to add tang and moisture. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful and satisfying beef burger bowl.
