Scale
Ribs and Seasoning
- 2 lbs pork ribs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Sauce
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
- Season the ribs: Thoroughly season the pork ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika, ensuring all sides are evenly coated.
- Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar until well combined and smooth.
- Place ribs in crockpot: Arrange the seasoned ribs inside the crockpot in a single layer to ensure even cooking.
- Add sauce mixture: Pour the prepared BBQ sauce mixture evenly over the ribs, making sure they are well covered.
- Cook: Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours, or alternatively on high heat for 4-5 hours, until the ribs are tender and cooked through.
- Serve: Carefully remove the ribs from the crockpot and serve hot. Optionally, add extra BBQ sauce on top for enhanced flavor.
Notes
- For best results, cook the ribs low and slow to allow flavors to meld and meat to become tender.
- You can also finish the ribs under a broiler or on a grill for a few minutes to get a nice caramelized crust.
- Leftover ribs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
- Feel free to adjust the seasoning and sauce sweetness to your taste preference.
