Description

This Banana Sushi recipe is a fun, quick, and healthy snack that combines fresh banana with delightful toppings like dark chocolate, sprinkles, chia seeds, nut butter, shredded coconut, and rice krispies. Perfect for a kid-friendly treat or an easy dessert, these sushi-style bananas are simple to prepare with no baking needed.

Ingredients

Scale

Sprinkles and Chia Seed Sushi

  • 1 banana
  • 2 squares dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles
  • 0.5 tbsp chia seeds

Coconut and Rice Krispie Sushi

  • 1 banana
  • 1.5 tbsp nut butter
  • 1.5 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 banana
  • 1.5 tbsp nut butter
  • 3 tbsp rice krispies

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas: Start by peeling the bananas carefully to maintain their shape and place them on a clean plate or cutting board ready for topping.
  2. Prepare Sprinkles and Chia Seed Sushi: Melt the dark chocolate squares until smooth and pour the melted chocolate evenly over the bananas. While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle the sprinkles or chia seeds on top to coat. Place the bananas in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  3. Prepare Coconut and Rice Krispie Sushi: Spread a generous layer of nut butter on top of the bananas. For the shredded coconut variant, roll the nut butter coated banana in shredded coconut until fully covered. For the rice krispies variant, roll the nut butter coated banana in rice krispies to coat thoroughly.
  4. Serve: Once prepared, serve all variants of the banana sushi immediately to enjoy the fresh flavors and crunchy textures.

Notes

  • You can use any nut butter of your choice such as peanut butter or almond butter.
  • Dark chocolate can be replaced with milk chocolate if preferred.
  • Refrigerate the chocolate-topped bananas until the chocolate sets firmly for a neater finish.
  • These snacks are best enjoyed fresh to preserve the crunch of the toppings.
  • Adjust the amount of toppings according to your liking for sweetness and texture.
