Description

These Baked Cranberry Brie Bites are a delightful and elegant appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy parties. Featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy brie cheese and tangy cranberry sauce, topped with crunchy candied pecans and fresh rosemary, they deliver a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and nutty flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry Base

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into 12 cubes
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Toppings (Optional)

  • 2 tbsp candied pecans, chopped
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a mini muffin tin to prevent the pastry from sticking during baking.
  2. Prepare the puff pastry cups: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 12 equal squares. Gently press each square into the muffin cups to create a small pastry base that will hold the filling.
  3. Add brie and cranberry sauce: Place one cube of brie cheese into each pastry cup. Then spoon a generous amount of cranberry sauce over the cheese in each cup. If using, sprinkle chopped candied pecans on top for an added crunch and sweetness.
  4. Bake: Bake the bites in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until the puff pastry turns golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  5. Cool and garnish: Remove the bites from the oven and allow them to cool for about 5 minutes. Garnish each cranberry brie bite with a small sprig of fresh rosemary before serving to enhance aroma and presentation.

Notes

  • You can make your own cranberry sauce or use a good-quality store-bought variety depending on your time constraints.
  • For a nuttier taste, try substituting candied pecans with chopped walnuts or almonds.
  • If you don’t have fresh rosemary, fresh thyme or sage also pairs well as a garnish.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture experience.
  • These bites can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking; just increase baking time slightly if baking from cold.
