Description

A deliciously warm and gooey baked Brie cheese topped with a honey drizzle and a delightful mix of dried fruits and nuts, perfect for an elegant appetizer or cozy snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese

  • 16 ounce wheel of Brie

Toppings

  • 1/4 cup Golden Raisins
  • 1/4 cup Dried Apricots
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Pistachios, lightly crushed
  • 5 tablespoons Honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the Brie.
  2. Prepare the Brie: Place the Brie wheel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to catch any leaks. Using a knife, score the top of the Brie in a crosshatch pattern to allow the honey to seep in and infuse the cheese.
  3. Drizzle honey: Drizzle 3 tablespoons of honey evenly over the scored top of the Brie for sweetness.
  4. Bake the Brie: Once the oven has reached 350°F, place the Brie on the middle rack and bake for 15 minutes until it becomes soft and gooey.
  5. Prepare the topping mix: While the Brie bakes, combine golden raisins, dried apricots, dried cranberries, crushed pistachios, and 1 tablespoon of honey in a small bowl. Stir well to evenly coat the mixture.
  6. Top the baked Brie: Remove the Brie from the oven carefully, and immediately top it with the dried fruit and nut mixture. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of honey over everything for added sweetness.
  7. Serve: Serve the baked Brie warm alongside an assortment of bread, crackers, and fresh fruit for dipping and spreading.

Notes

  • Scoring the cheese allows the honey to penetrate deeper enhancing flavor.
  • Use parchment paper on the baking sheet for easier cleanup as the Brie may leak during baking.
  • For variation, you can swap nuts or dried fruit according to taste or availability.
  • Serve immediately after baking for the best gooey texture.
  • This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
