Description

This Baked Brie with Honey and Nuts is a warm, gooey appetizer featuring a wheel of Brie cheese scored and baked to perfection. It’s topped with a delightful mix of golden raisins, dried apricots, dried cranberries, and lightly crushed pistachios, all sweetened with honey. Perfect for sharing at gatherings or as a cozy treat, this elegant dish pairs wonderfully with crackers, bread, and fresh fruit.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese

  • 16 ounce wheel of Brie

Dried Fruits & Nuts

  • 1/4 cup Golden Raisins
  • 1/4 cup Dried Apricots
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Pistachios (lightly crushed)

Sweetener

  • 5 tablespoons Honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the Brie.
  2. Prepare Brie: Place the wheel of Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to catch any melting cheese. Use a knife to score the top of the Brie in a crosshatch pattern. This scoring allows the honey to seep into the cheese and enhance its flavor.
  3. Honey Drizzle: Drizzle 3 tablespoons of honey evenly over the top of the Brie, allowing it to settle into the cuts.
  4. Bake Brie: Once the oven is preheated, place the baking sheet with the Brie inside and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is soft and warm.
  5. Mix Toppings: While the Brie bakes, in a small bowl combine golden raisins, dried apricots, dried cranberries, lightly crushed pistachios, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir the mixture to coat the fruits and nuts evenly.
  6. Top Brie: After baking, carefully remove the Brie from the oven. Spoon the dried fruit and nut mixture over the top of the warm cheese. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of honey on top for extra sweetness.
  7. Serve Warm: Serve the baked Brie warm alongside crackers, fresh bread, and fresh fruit for dipping. Enjoy the gooey, sweet, nutty flavors together.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to avoid mess from melted Brie leaking onto the baking sheet.
  • Score the Brie gently to avoid breaking the rind completely.
  • Let the Brie rest a few minutes after baking to slightly cool and thicken before serving.
  • Feel free to substitute pistachios with other nuts like walnuts or pecans based on preference.
  • This recipe works well as a party appetizer or holiday treat.
